Requirements for becoming a homicide detective

You want an exciting career? You've come to the right place. There is a reason this is the most featured job in movie history. This is a job in high demand - so be sure that you have the drive to fulfill all requirements and then go the extra mile.

The basics:

Get a degree in Criminal Justice. Some places even offer a Bachelor's or Master's in Criminal Behavior, Crime Scene Investigation, or other advanced degrees that can give you a leg up on the competition with a basic CJ degree.

It doesn't end there though.

You'll need to differentiate yourself even after that. You'll need to spend some time in Law Enforcement and outperform your fellow officers. It will probably take at least 3 years before you are offered a promotion - so Detective will not be immediate.
