What degree do you need to become a CIA Agent?
Becoming a CIA agent is one of the most lengthy and interrogating processes for hiring any new applicants. The select few who do pass spend months of rigorous training and need to be well prepared for the challenges that come up. The CIA will not even consider you if you do not, at the very least, posses one of the following degrees:
- BS in Economics
- BS in behavioral science
- BS in International Science
- BS in Psychology
Just by attaining your Bachelors Degree does make you a candidate, but not a very competitive one. Take the time to earn your masters degree in any of the above fields to double your chances on getting selected. Develop language proficiency in 1 or 2 languages. This is looked on as an extremely valuable quality.
Make sure that while you are completing your degree that you maintain a relatively high GPA and take courses that are challenging. By performing well in these courses recruiters for the CIA may take note of you and contact you with interest in signing you up for the interview process.
