Requirements for DEA Agents

A DEA agent’s success strives on the ability to manage several challenging tasks at any given time.  This requires that you have the knowledge to successfully implement and deliver reports and strategies that will help in the prevention of illegal drug trafficking and smuggling.  Your work needs to be organized and ready to logically develop conclusions about what your next move may be.  Since so much of what you need to know comes from your education that DEA requires that you posses a degree in one of the following areas

  1. BS in Accounting
  2. BS or MS in Economics
  3. BS in Finance
  4. BS or MS in Criminal Justice
  5. BS in Computer Science

To stand above the competition, study foreign languages and finance.  Applicants to supplement their degrees with these subjects receive special consideration.
