Education for Forensic Psychologists

In order to be fully immersed and ready for the complexities of a Forensic psychologist, be prepared for a lot of schooling.  You have to learn to understand the mind and what possible type of thoughts and information may grow through a persons head.  This is why you may want to begin by getting a degree in one of the following areas:

  1. Masters in Psychology
  2. Bachelors in Psychology

Once you've obtained your undergraduate degree pursue your masters in doctorate in clinical psychology.  This process can keep you busy for 5-7 years.  If there are any local seminars that you can attend do so, the more information that you soak up about forensic psychology the better.  Try to gain experience working with a chartered forensic psychologist because most jobs require you have some field experience and this will create an opportunity that will give you plenty of field experience.
