Crime Analyst Jobs
As a crime analyst you will be responsible for studying crime and profile suspects. Based on the data that you research and collect an analyst will try to make predictions as to what place a crime is likely to occur and take measures to prevent that. Expect to spend lots of time researching and investigating different crimes and motives to draw your conclusions. On any given day expect to use the three types of analysis you will be trained on. They are listed below
- Tactical Crime analysis – focus on preventing crimes that are an immediate threat to the community. Ex: rape, robbery, serial murders.
- Strategical crime analysis – Determines where police officers are needed more and where they are needed less.
- Administrative Crime analysis – Provide and interpret crime statistics for local agencies and officers.
